Swedish School in Malmo Adds Skateboarding to School Curriculum

Author: Mark Page-Botelho Posted: 2017-05-28

A Swedish School in Malmo adds skateboarding to school curriculum. It's not the core curriculum, but they are using skateboarding as an extra-curricular or "hidden" curriculum. Students have access to a school skateboard park where they can spend time between classes. It's only a matter of time for a teacher to find a way to integrate skateboarding either into physical education courses or even physics. I've incorporated skateboarding into all subjects so I know it can be done. It would be really cool if other schools gave students a way to tie in their personal past times into school.
